The City Church Interns program is a two-year training program with each year building upon the foundation of the previous year. We have developed a strategy in which the spiritual, academic and practical come together to develop well-rounded leaders for the future. We believe that this balanced approach to spiritual development prepares everyone to lead a Christian life of satisfaction and fruitfulness. We at The City Church believe that one of our highest callings as a church is to help grow leaders who have a passion for God and His presence. We are committed to train and mentor people in the practical application of the Word of God and in how to live their faith out in their everyday life.

Located in beautiful San Diego, California, The City Church is 15 minutes for the beach and only 30 minutes from Sea World, the World Famous San Diego Zoo & downtown. We are continently located to the boarder of Tijuana, Mexico making it possible for frequent international mission trips. Come discover what God has for you in "the America's finest city."

The school is divided into two 9-month segments, September through June, and each year has a specific focus in the development of the student. Graduates of these two years may apply for internships, be deployed into various opportunities or continue on with their education/career with a new purpose in God.

The first year of CCI focuses on discipleship training and discovery of the individual God-given gifts the Bible says every Christian is imparted with. The first year students learn about the gifts of the Spirit and how to walk in the power of God. They are a part of the ministry team in church services and serve in our conferences, classes and connect groups. They participate in outreach ministry each week and go on various mission trips nationally and internationally. Students raise additional funds for the larger mission trips, however all short-term trips are included in the tuition. Every 12-weeks students will cycle through our schools of ministry, getting a taste of the different aspects of the church. The schools include World Missions, Worship, Media & Arts, Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry, & Pastoral Administration. First year students will also be in a mentor group, and help assist a small Bible study group. [more]

Second Year students take what they learned in their first year and release their gifts in a specific ministry area. They also learn leadership skills, in a hands-on environment, that will enable them be forerunners in all walks of life. Second Year students have the opportunity to travel on ministry trips where the students are released as the ministry leaders for each trip including prayer, worship, preaching and outreach leadership. Internships provide an opportunity to experience church-leadership and full-time ministry firsthand. The program is personalized to the intern's calling and gifting. They work directly under a department-head or pastor in their field and learn about ministry from ministry leaders. Additionally, the internship includes individual pastoral oversight and leadership training. Internships generally center on World Missions, Worship, Media & Arts, Youth Ministry, Children's Ministry or Pastoral Leadership. Internships are primarily available to those called to career ministry in the church, although those who intend to lead in other areas can be considered. CCI offers one of the only College-Accredited internships in the country. The classes are accredited through City Bible College, a member with Accrediting status in the Accrediting Commission International (ACI) for Schools, Colleges, and Theological Seminaries. After 2 years of CCI and CBC classes (offered on Tuesday nights at The City Church), you can obtain an Associates of Theology degree.

The tuition for City Church Intern Program is $3250 per year per student (subject to change). The tuition covers instructors, textbooks, notebooks, day trips, conference fees, etc. It does not, however, cover housing or mission trips. There is a minimum $1,500 down payment (which includes a down-payment on the trip). Payments are required by the first day of The City Church Intern Program registration. The remaining balance is divided over nine, monthly installments. Scholarships are available.
